Events in Carlingford

Our Holiday Homes and Hostel accommodation are available to rent for festivals and other events this summer and all year round! Carlingford and County Louth are bustling with lots of events and reasons to come visit.

Feile Peile Na Nog

Feile Na Nog takes place across counties Louth, Down and Armagh on the weekend of 29th June – 1st July.  This celebration of underage football brings teams from across the country to play against local teams at under 14 level with both boys and girls teams. We are delighted to offer support to both our local Cooley Kickhams team and the Co Down team Mayobridge team. These events take a huge amount of organisation from volunteers so well done to the clubs and we wish them a fantastic weekend of sport! If any of the teams have free time they can check out Skypark for some Team Building activities if they have the energy!  http://feilepeile2018.com/

Fleadh Cheoil

Fleadh Cheoil 2018 will take place in Drogheda from 12th August to 19th August 2018.  This week long festival is the world’s biggest celebration of Irish music, song and dance.   The town will be buzzing for the week and already people are finding it hard to get accommodation in Drogheda or the local area. Carlingford is 60km away but mostly motorway driving so its only about 45mins drive and the scenery and small village atmosphere make the drive worth the while when you get here! http://fleadhcheoil.ie/homepage/accommodation/

Poc Fada

Poc Fada is Irish for a ‘long puck’ a term usually describing the long clearance by a goalkeeper during Hurling. The All Ireland Poc Fada Championship is held annually in the Cooley Mountains of Co Louth, testing the striking skills of many top hurlers from nationwide. The event has been held since 1960 over a hilly 5km course and the winner takes the least pocs (or strikes) to complete the course. The current course record is 48 pocs, but some say Cu Chulainn himself finished the course in 2 pocs. We are delighted to support this event every year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All-Ireland_Poc_Fada_Championship
